Rosa Wain

Born in Coventry of a Slovene father and Italian mother in the mid-fifties, Rosa has drawn and painted for as far back as she can remember. Her creativity has turned to pattern and dressmaking and horticulture both at a professional level when the need was required, but ultimately her joy of using watercolour painting has won through.

Rosa's love of the Christian Bible has provided more than a lifetime's inspiration for her, coupled with a deep awe of the natural world. One of her favourite words is 'Look!' as in our rushing world, time spent simply looking at our natural world seems rare. Her fascination with kaleidoscopes shows itself in her paintings, as do these words from Scripture : 'Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror, then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.'

Worship through art workshops are also close to Rosa's heart, holding them at her church, Elim Coventry, and at the House of Bread, a retreat centre in Shipson-on-Stour. She has held several exhibitions locally in coffee shops, theatre foyers, St. Mark's Church, Leamington, Coventry Cathedral, Open Studios and at Bottesford Kooroon gallery.
